Learn Enough Git on Amazon.com

Happy New Year, everyone!

Here at Learn Enough, we're hard at work on the next two titles in our nine-part intro sequence: Learn Enough CSS & Layout to Be Dangerous and Learn Enough JavaScript to Be Dangerous.

We're planning to launch those two tutorials over the next couple of months, but in the mean time we'll be publishing some of our previous titles on Amazon.com, starting with Learn Enough Git to Be Dangerous.

For the next week, you can get a 20% launch discount ($7.99) on Learn Enough Git to Be Dangerous. Next week the price will increase to $9.99.

For those who've read the tutorial already, it would also be much-appreciated if you could leave a review.

The Git tutorial is actually my favorite of the four intro tutorials released so far (Command Line, Text Editor, Git, and HTML). It's both a standalone introduction to version control—a foundational tool for technical sophistication—and an essential prerequisite to the tutorials that follow.

Through a series of happy coincidences, Learn Enough Git to Be Dangerous also gave me an opportunity to include some images from Lewis Carroll's classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, including some of John Tenniel's delightful illustrations, which are now in the public domain.

These lighthearted images, combined with the lively collaboration between the aforementioned Alice and her colleague Bob, help turn a potentially dry subject into a fun and engaging story.

Learning Git probably gives you the highest return on investment of any of the Developer Fundamentals subjects—all the more because, even now, most non-developers don't realize how important it is.

Learn Enough Git to Be Dangerous is a great place to start with this essential developer tool, unlocking the ability to collaborate with millions of developers around the world.

As usual, it's available for free online, and for direct purchase (with videos) as well, but we've made the Amazon version available for those who like the convenience of having it sent right to their Kindle. The Amazon version includes a bonus link for free EPUB and PDF copies as well, so you'll be good to go no matter which ebook format you prefer.

P.S. Remember, the 20% launch discount expires in a week!

P.P.S. If you've already read Learn Enough Git to Be Dangerous, please leave a review at Amazon. Thanks!
